if you were involved in the decision making process in making opening a compose bin a pain at best and totally inaccessible at worst, fuck — and i cannot express this enough — you.

A NYC compost bin. On the side, a decal reads “Download our app to unlock this bin” and a QR code.

@samhenrigold solution: bolt one of these to the side of it, covering the QR code

a steel garbage bin with a wall-mount

@mliberatore not a city planner but I have a hunch not many people will step aside, scan a QR code, wait for an app to download over cellular, locate the bin they’re standing next to, and then dispose of their food provided the bin is online and working. i love the future!!!

Maybe we could do the same thing for public transportation?

We could charge a fee to board and arrest anyone who doesn't pay!

@samhenrigold it’s SO BAD.

We have curbside bins if you ever need one.

App nonsense aside, you have to touch it to open it?!

@grishka who wouldn’t want to touch a public bin and then touch food!
