VK app around the same time had a much more elegant solution in my opinion (although my yet-inexperienced ass had real trouble implementing it). You drag on that thing to open the player.

@grishka I distinctly remember hearing about you getting the design specs to replicate the iOS tab bar 1:1 and every time I see a screenshot of that, I think about this subreddit reddit.com/r/ATBGE/
