@mlibby I don’t think logic really comes into it. It’s about socially constructed conceptions of morality. In the case of right wing conservatism, there’s a very strong correlation with authoritarianism as an end in itself. “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” |
@IanDSmith Is the corollary here that if I am in favor abortion (choice), birth control, and sex ed that I must also then be pro-choice on guns?
As much as I love pointing out logic flaws in conservative thinking, I am concerned this one paints those of us who think guns should be far more heavily regulated into a corner.
