How is it I’m only just learning about Feedle – @feedle – by @preslavrachev?

Search for a topic – e.g., JavaScript or ethics or whatnot – and the returned result is available as an RSS feed.

This might just get me back into using an RSS reader again because the thing I struggle with the most is curating feeds.

I vividly remember when RSS was the "New" Internet in Web 2.0 days. Old is so relative ;-)

Oh, and RSS is still great and much more widespread than most would believe.

@aral @feedle @preslavrachev This is great, thanks for this! I love #RSS and still use it very much 🙌

@aral @feedle Thank you so much 🙏 Feedle is a side project I help a small team from Germany develop, maintain, and spread the word about. #RSS has been our passion since its very inception in the early 2000s, and we have taken it as our mission to help promote it and the #OpenWeb with every means possible.

As you'll see, Feedle is not perfect - there are a few rought edges we are still working around. Not every blog post is as easy to find there as we want it to be, but are working on it! 💪

@preslavrachev @aral It's a good thing to try doing something very different from the traditional search engines. Focusing on a different kind of use cases allows you to serve the underserved communities better.

@autiomaa @aral precisely! Call me a techno-activist. While I’ve spent (and still spend some) a significant portion of my working time serving the IT needs of big corporates, I hope to have found a way forward for myself and others, that allows us to sustainably build things that matter to our personal values. It’s not easy, getting yourself off the enterprise clalws, but it feels way more fulfilling.

@preslavrachev Both are serving people, one brings the money to pay the bills, another brings the joy of making a positive change in the world.

Very few have the opportunity and priviledge to choose a low paid hobby project instead of a well paying enterprise job.
