@symmetrizer Right?! I kind of want to print and cut little floppy disk sleeves for the SD cards.

Ding Dang Trevor Flowers

@symmetrizer Yeah, who am I kidding? I'm totally doing it. 😹

@trevorflowers @symmetrizer
Always wanted this for normal sized SD cards, because those should be today's floppies, right? (I mean, with microSD it's super cute and all, but too small for handwritten labels at least)
Even got such labels, but didn't really end up using them much.. maybe I should've gotten a floppy-disk-organizer-like box for them; though in the end, probably it's just that SMB and scp are usually easier and faster than messing with cards

@trevorflowers you’re gonna make me start to put tiny labels with inaccurate information on my microSD cards

Ding Dang Trevor Flowers

@djsundog Ha! A little sticker that reads "dissertation" but the card actually holds trip photos. 😹

@trevorflowers That's awesome and actually a kinda useful product. I don't know how normal people sort SD cards, I just keep them loose in a little box in a drawer

@trevorflowers *gently taps top of tiny floppy organizer* this thing can fit so many terabytes in it

Trammell Hudson

@trevorflowers the proper card reader for that SD organiser.

Tiny card reader that looks like a comodore 64 floppy drive atop a c64 keyboard

@trevorflowers It's so cute but I'd be afraid of losing several cards at once with it unless I paired it with, like, a scale model of a C64 in a display case or something... oh gosh that'd be cute...

@trevorflowers

"What is a floppy disk? Also what is a disk?"

@trevorflowers
Would there by any chance be an instruction on how to print this?

@trevorflowers damn I wish I had a 3d printer... Every day I inch closer to a purchase that my wife will be very critical of.

@trevorflowers@machines.social Haha, I love it. It looks like a Lego. Like you would put it on your tiny Lego desk next to your Lego phone. :ablobcatreach:

@trevorflowers Is this printed? Are there files online somewhere?! 🥺

Debbie

@trevorflowers this is the cutest and most useful thing I've seen in ages

@trevorflowers I remember slowly installing linux from forty 1.44MB floppy disks. These I could have many distros all inside this dinky box. But also have better things to do with my life these days than to try 😄 . But I'd still love the dinky little box.

Fanriya

@trevorflowers thinking of the number of floppy disk needed just to equal the storage of the first memory card 🤯

This is a lot of real size floppy organizer.

katzenjens

@trevorflowers Any chance to obtain STL for this? Please... 😻

@trevorflowers

Huh. Little brother to this?

I keep it purely for decorative purposes now.

A 3.5 inch disk container from the 1990s, probably. The light grey box, approximately 5 inches in length, holds 36 disks, which are in nonstandard colors red, orange, teal, dark green, pastel blue, and dark blue. The pale smokey transparent lid is raised to give a clearer view.

@trevorflowers do you have STL files for that to share? 🥹

Albert Lee

@trevorflowers I'm just old enough to remember seeing the originals on childhood bookshelf corners. Are these modeled yourself or are there STLs?

Phil Thane ✅

@Maker_of_Things @suearcher surely your miniature house, boat, workshop needs one of these?

MagicLike | #AfDVerbotJetzt

@trevorflowers idk if anyone already asked, but can you share the STLs? :blobcateyes:
