Does anyone know someone who works at Yahoo that I could get in touch with to have our link preview user-agent exempted from the cookie consent page?
Update: I'm now in touch with someone from Yahoo, thanks!

@farshidhakimy Of course if their IP is not European they will not be shown the cookie consent page. But it should really be based on the user agent. Ours isn't a browser, it won't even process cookies! @Gargron oh okay. I always thought they whitelisted those instances. But yeah that makes more sense @Gargron Instead I'd just refuse to use #Yahoo since they #cockblock shit on purpose... But since Yahoo evidently doesn't give any f**ks - just ask any #Mainserver - #Sysadmin about #AbuseReports to #YahooMail - consider just using #LynxBrowser's #UserAgent or #Google's #Crawler or similar instead... @Gargron Better leave it as-is, that way I can save some time and avoid clicking the links which display that awful consent page. @Gargron glad you're looking into sorting that out. Always find it annoying when all I get is "Techcrunch is part of the Yahoo family" (or words to that effect!) @Gargron @Gargron can you convince them to join the fediverse with instances called Geocities? K.thx 🤣 |
@Gargron I have seen Mastodon instances that display the techcrunch link previews correctly but don't remember which one it was.
