Gregory's Server@mbonsma Staying safe is everyone's responsibility - period. If you're a distracted pedestrian who jaywalks or doesn't see the "Do Not Cross" sign and walks anyway, you're just as liable if a car hits you.

Just no. It is NOT an equal responsibility here. The person driving a 4000 pound car has much more responsibility to not hit people than the person being hit. Not saying there is no responsibility for the pedestrian to be aware of their general surroundings, but it’s nowhere near an equal responsibility. |
