@Gargron I enjoy many things about mastodon but the one that comes to mind as an admin is: how easy it to copy custom emojis from another server if you have federated with them!

@Gargron we all love platform and also know that you are listening to feedback and ideas. Something pretty rare for social media platforms. Sucks no one says what they love about it. I can say I love the entire platform and I hope it grows. I really enjoy hosting my own instance. That’s what I like about Mastodon.

Ich kann nicht verstehen, warum gerade Journalisten den Wert der echten Unabhängigkeit nicht sehen oder verstehen wollen.
Ich bin gespannt ob die Firmenaccounts (auch für Support etc. ) hier auftauchen werden. Hängt wahrscheinlich davon ab, wie gut Mastodon in deren Multi-Platform-Tools integriert werden kann. Das könnte einen ziemlichen Pull-Effekt haben, denke ich.

@Gargron @dangillmor I have never used twitter-style apps before Mastodon and despise their layout, their following thingy, etc.
But there hasn't been a place where I felt better than Mastodon. Usually if I didn't like the layout of an app, I would switch it. With Mastodon, even though I'm not a fan of the layout, the community here makes up for it ten fold and the ideas it stands for are noble.

@Gargron first of all - huge thank you for Mastodon! I really enjoy my local feed, how much in control I can be what I see, hashtags are great, easy to add alt text to images, local servers are great. On Mastadon I engage with people instead of screaming into void. Keep up the great work you do!

Loving the: Baked in RSS. Reverse chronological order feed. No algorithm. Humble and responsive CEO.

When I dream of improvements to Mastodon, it is mostly because I wish I could get more people to come here instead of staying on eXitter or Facebook.

These are things I like:

That I can ban whole domains just for me, just because I feel like it.

That I can follow and super-follow people. Ie. 2 levels of following, so most interesting/funny can be right there in my notifications.

That you care about Mastodon and want it to be even better. ❤️

So I'll say: I am happy with my experience on mstdn.ca and was pleasantly surprised with the recent update that included Search!
