@rolle my attitude towards bluesky federation is the same as threads. It could potentially help the fediverse and they probably will enable it at first but I would not trust them to keep it on if they have a reason not to at some point. They might also end up being strict about who they federate with for similar reasons.

@73ms Bluesky will never directly support Federating with the Fediverse by design because they have decided to build it on their own protocol instead of ActivityPub. This is made by an outside developer. Bridge is different than a direct federation.

@rolle yeah I am aware it is a third party effort, my comment was meant as applying to all forms of federation Bluesky may have in the future.
