@pseudonym @talia_christine There was a big push to change to metric during the Carter administration and it made some progress. I remember road speed limit signs having both. Reagan quashed it. I recall when NASA crashed a Mars lander, I think it was, because somebody forgot to make a conversion. Metric is so easy but Americans cling to the clunky system because how dare anyone inconvenience them with change, even if it would be an improvement. @nesmb @pseudonym honestly it's way easier to understand plus it's necessary if you ever plan to visit literally any other place. @talia_christine @nesmb @pseudonym Yes, but the conversions were a pain in the ass to learn. |
