@dave @BBCRadio4 @LillianVS @nixCraft @BBCRD @BBC5Live @BBC_News_Labs if Iām not mistaken, once you signed up your insta acc was tied to threads permanently? @dave @nixCraft @BBCRD @BBC_News_Labs @BBC5Live @BBCRadio4 This highlights a big problem with mastodon, the terrible search results. Searching for "BBC News" or "BBCNews" only results in bot accounts that aren't affiliated with the bbc. Unless you already know the name of an account there's no easy way of finding it. @geoffl If you can see it then this sounds like a good idea: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/discussions/21045 @dave@az.social @nixCraft@mastodon.social @BBCRD@social.bbc @BBC_News_Labs@social.bbc @BBC5Live@social.bbc @BBCRadio4@social.bbc |
@dave @nixCraft @BBCRD @BBC_News_Labs @BBC5Live @BBCRadio4 threads has no real features that allowed user engagement.
I welcome competition even as bad as it was with user data. It's healthy for the internet in general to have options.
That said. What a poorly thought out plan from the get go. Not allowing basic features like being able to look at hashtags or trending topics was such a waste.
Among other things. They aren't new to the space, they should have known better
