We just released security patches for versions 3.5, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2. If you are using nightly, you can upgrade to 4.2.0-rc2 safely. We strongly suggest you upgrade to one of those versions in the coming days.

@MastodonEngineering I have a digital ocean server, will that still be accessible when this reaches EOL?
[DATA EXPUNGED]
@tobiaalberti It's still on our list to start work on our search tab. But we aren't quite there yet. @ivory Oh, I see. I misread your latest changelog and thought you already rolled it out 🙂 Hope it happens soon, and thank you for the info! @tobiaalberti I actually spoke too soon. If your server has search enabled, Ivory should display search results the same as what your server would show. I just meant we didn't specifically make any improvements to our search tab yet. But if your server shows search results for posts, it should show up in our app as well. CC: @admin you're running 3.1.3 which is absurdly out of date @MastodonEngineering Hey, shouldn't 4.1.8 show up in 'releases'...? https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases At the moment, it doesn't. @MastodonEngineering Running rc2 on my personal server, seems stable. The requirement for a specific version of Ruby is a bit of a pain, since I can't rely on Debian ruby3 packages. Unless I'm doing it wrong. :/ |
Please note that Mastodon 3.5 will reach end-of-life at the end of the year, and 4.0 at the end of October. We strongly suggest you upgrade to 4.1 or 4.2 by that point! Mastodon 4.2 will be released this Thursday.
