Wouldn't it make sense to include Scribus in the question?

For #libreOffice #Impress, what'd be great is that, when importing a multipage PDF, it would automatically duplicate the current slide into as many slides as PDF pages, and import successive pages as images into each of them. 3/3 @jocelyn_etienne @Mina @inkscape that sounds like a great idea for a little #libreoffice extension, or cmdline tool. there's lpod-python or #odf-toolkit for #ODF file manip, and for pdf page extraction, there's tons of existing code. #weekend #hack anyone? :) I guess one caveat is the resizing of the imported content: if resize is done after the import, which afaik is the usual workflow in #libreoffice, then it needs to be repeated for each and every imported image on differnt slides... probably even worse than manual duplication+image replacement. |

I use #inkscape #layers show/hide in order to create #overlays both for #TexLatex #Beamer class and (occasionally) for #LibreOffice #impress.
The part which is not convenient is that, if I edit sthg, I need to re-export all the layer combinations into each of the files that are included. And, with Impress, to re-import each of them. (And by the way, to remember the file names I've used for such or such combination).
Example use: a schematic with/without captions.
