@lanodan Theft will always, ALWAYS be more profitable than not theft. Playing fair will never beat cheating in advantage.

And that is a problem if your whole society is based on profit motive and is living inside a resource-limited system. In the end, there will be just nothing left to steal and nowhere to get more stuff to steal from.
