"Offenhouse was a 20th century financier who had himself cryogenically frozen and was awakened in time to engage a deeply annoyed Captain Picard in debates over money (or the lack of it in the future) " @warandpeas Kinda my reality in the early '90s in Brazil: I was a millionaire for a few weeks or months, before a new cut of 000 and a new change of currency name. Or the disguised dollarization in early 1994. Converting that bank balance from that currency to the US$ exchange of that month, it was around US$3,500 from that time (I don't know the USA inflation of the last decades). @warandpeas Pft. Of course those student loans are still waiting for you. Plus interest. And fees. So much for the toast. |
