@cblgh no idea :/ but it might have popularized a specific genre of science fiction @neauoire thanks for the rec anyway, usually enjoy the stuff you point out. the machine stops was super good :) @cblgh this is kind of similar but.. very unique atmosphere. You sort of have to read it listening to cold wave or anything off aufnahme + wiedergabe to match the vibe. Have you read roadside picknic? @neauoire oh hell yes coldwave soundtrack for this sounds dope, actually heard some live earlier this week in town :~ roadside picnic i liked quite a lot when i read it! been a while since then, but i remember being surprised at how light its tone was compared to all other Stalker depictions i'd come across @cblgh it's kindda like that, the main character is really non-challant about the whole thing @neauoire looking forward to reading it :~ right now i'm reading Ruthanna Emrys's second book, Deep Roots, a kind of rehabilitation of the lovecraft mythos, check her out when you have a chance. her latest, A Half-Built Garden, i found really interesting and well-written |
@neauoire is this the book that popularized the term originally?
