I guess many Linux users still fire up windows for gaming, especially if the game in question does not easily run under your favorite Wine flavour.

The underlying reality on the data is more complicated than that, although with no source it's hard to figure out how.

But just to be clear, in 2023 people aren't "a Windows user" or "a Linux user". It's tools for the job. I have multiple desktop Linux installs in SBCs, some in retro PCs. People have a Chromebook on the side of their main PC often, just like they have tablets.

Which is good. OS's aren't meant to be locked content platforms.
