.idx and .pack files are probably git-related. I have 582+178 MB of images. I have 10MB of hand-written text. Project Gutenberg's HTML ebook release of Moby-Dick is 1.5 MB, I have almost 7 times more than that, and I don't have HTML in that text. A prolific writer.

N.B. Git was a bad choice.
