At this point I use the solar cooker so often(almost every day) that I’m noticing a slight distortion in the metal reflectors. Not a big deal, they just don’t fold in as tightly as they used to. May have to re-bend them as some point.

Made 2 baguettes and chickpeas(that was in turn mashed into hummus) the other day, yesterday I cooked some lentils. Gonna roast some sunflower seeds today.

We’ve been swinging at anchor these days(as opposed to being anchored+stern tied), so the sun’s position isn’t always optimal, but the cooker doesn’t seem to mind. If the wind is blowing the boat moves somewhat predictably, the worst is when there’s no wind (I have to readjust the cooker constantly).

@mycorrhiza I've seen *some* ppl use it that way, we're planning on getting an extra tube later this year to do exactly that (to make tests with anyway).

@rek what do you use to mash the chickpeas for hummus? a potato masher? a fork? My roommate and I were wondering whether or not we were just not cooking them enough for the potato masher or if there was something better to be using.

@rek so that answers it - we aren't cooking them long enough 😆

@eejum Maybe XD! I always add water to make it easier to mash too. Mine arent always crazy soft. Either way, cooking them longer is a safe bet :>

@rek I'm sure the sunflower seeds will like that 🌻☀️ I'll be an encore performance!
