This is hilarious: a website that reads tech giants’ terms of service to soothe you to sleep

@blueberry Not sure whether this would just give me nightmares instead :)

Martin Rue

@blueberry It might be like those people who learn languages in their sleep. One day you'll find yourself at a party wowing people with the most specific aspects of the Instagram ToS from memory. 😁

Blueberry

@TerryHancock might be even better if Zuckerberg himself read it

@blueberry Oh, but this is fantastic! Although the reply about nightmares is probably right

MariaLiv

@blueberry Yeah, but really, people who have trouble sleeping should try borrowing legal books from their local library. Especially some area like VAT, which is not Vodka And Tonic (it's Value Added Tax), and I can almost guarantee reading about different taxes will make people fall asleep. 😴

Blueberry

@MariaLiv that’s true, but white noise also helps! I would always fall asleep to recorded lectures

@blueberry haha this is brilliant :blobcatgiggle:

@blueberry I love ToS treatments like these! Just recently I have flicked through my copy of the iTunes Terms and Conditions graphic novel by R. Sikoryak and enjoyed it very much 😂

@peter @blueberry at least that makes it interesting, although i'll probably end up looking at all of the illustrations instead

@blueberry

Amazing that a human reads the terms, and reads them well, interpreting them as one would a story. They could have had a text-to-voice reader do the work, but no. This is art.

Blueberry

@patrickgillam completely agreed, I’m very impressed by the dedication

@blueberry how would the voice talent ever read it for the recording and not fall asleep themselves?
