sustainable (a checklist):
- verifiable - not a scam
- measurable - net benefit, meterable
- permanent - not just delayed destruction
- additive (not something that would have happened anyway)
- scaleable - industry
- affordable - dirt-cheap materials
carbon trading isn't a net benefit, especially isn't permanent, isn't additive, and mostly isn't verifiable
the only thing going for it is "forests are big and companies can afford the tax offset"
