@avi Thanks, I appreciate it. But part of the fun in this project is to learn how to make it ourselves. I was wondering, can you cnc cut thin sheets of aluminum?

@neauoire @avi yes you absolutely can. Either router with some form of hold down (can be as simple as masking tape and super glue or vacuum or a spring loaded roller on the spindle, and down cutting bits help avoid pulling it up), or a strong enough laser. Both available as a service or diy.

Can also print a life size template onto paper, glue it on, and have at it with snips or a grinder with the right type of disk if the shape is simple enough.

@maxc @avi Wait you two know each other? And you've used Avi's CNC? small world

@neauoire @avi I missed the "you" part in afraid it's late here haha but for any cnc cutter there exists a thickness of alu sheet or plate it'll cut. A stock 3018 can do 3mm accurately enough if you're patient (and if the tiny footprint is enough)

@maxc @avi Oh haha, np. I would have been only half surprised if you did know each other.

@neauoire @avi haven't yet had the pleasure 🙏 but would be happy to haha
