@mastodom I am still getting used to this platform and wondered what Pixelfed and Fediverse is all about. I thought it was just another kind of Mastodon variant
@yugimob That’s understandable :) I’m not the most knowledgeable but I am on #Pixelfed as a replacement for #Instagram at https://pixelfed.social/MastoDom. I was able to export everything from Instagram to Pixelfed pretty easily which made the decision a no-brainer.
As far as #Fediverse, I think that just refers to any of the #ActivityPub products that are software and users distributed into separate servers/instances and then connected to each other like a big web.
Regardless, the distributed, non-corporate nature of the Fediverse is why I’m here. No #Algorithm, no #Monetization, no #Privacy issues. I donate to the servers and people that run what I use, and it seems fair to reward the work they do. It’s a sense of #Community and a safe space for #Marginalized or less-populated groups.
