@neauoire i was mostly posting that because i have such fond memories of mercurial. (i still use it for personal stuff but feels like a lost battle. also distributing python modules/programs is just the worst.) @neauoire This wasn't done in a package manager that should warn you of the side effects? @tim_lavoie I think I might have had built hg from source. I can't recall what the story here was.. @neauoire This is why I've converted a few of my devices to #nixos. Not only is there a declarative, functional-style file that defines how and where things come from (including source builds), but is also atomic. When I do manage to break something, there is a rollback available to get the previous state. |
