On my Win10 and Win11 with installed Office 2019, the Word zero-day CVE-2023-36884 successfully bypasses Protected View. Word doesn't spawn a new process within AppContainer sandbox to execute the untrusted malicious .docx, allowing the exploit to perform its operations.
