#ElbrusPosting #SavingPrivateElbrus

Almost two weeks ago I posted few photos of broken dead server motherboard with Elbrus CPUs here: https://suya.place/notice/AXM42m5imbeLOhbEfI

So with the big help of @axxieflex, we went and bought it. As was expected, the board and the chassis are in absolutely worst state.

He also contacted some people at MCST to get a diagnosis and possible repair, and they agreed to help. Today I went to their office and left the board for them. The best outcome I'm hoping for is that some of the CPUs are alive and working. South bridge IC is probably dead, but I still hope they would be able to re-ball it. If that's true, survived chips could be installed on a new motherboard, and finally we will get a working machine for reverse-engineering purposes.

In the end, I want this machine to be connected to some kind of KVM and JTAG debuggers and available for enthusiasts to test their bootloaders, kernel and custom drivers on it, remotely.

So here comes the e-begging part. The repair would still probably cost around 100k rubles or more (which is anyway cheaper than a new workstation board). We also need to get a new chassis, KVM, some video card, RAM sticks, disks, and other stuff. I think $2-2.5k is expected for now. You can help us with that.

* For people outside Russia... well... you could probably try your luck with Boosty: http://boosty.to/a1ba

P.S. You also can give me any ideas for a simplistic OpenE2K logo, that would be very appreciated. :)
