absolutely losing my entire mind at this web site that decided to take their irritating distracting "chat with us" popups that no one ever asked for and make it *fucking bounce around like the fucking dvd logo* what the fuck is happening

@nasser Some project manager puzzled that no bugger wants to use their stupid chat tool so thinks the reasom MUST be that people cant see it...rinse and repeat.

p

chat with them, and tell them they're fucked in the head?

@nasser this is giving me nostalgia for a time when people used to copy and paste JavaScript from dynamicdrive.com to make their free websites do wacky stuff πŸ˜‚

@nasser #uBlockOrigin has lists for removing annoyances like this. Might be worth trying it.

A screenshot of the uBlockOrigin settings page that enables and disables specific filter lists. Some of them have names that suggest that they'd remove this bouncing chat prompt.

@nasser Would real people need to bounce around my screen with faulty collision checks? No, I don't think so.

🌼 Dagnabbit, Pascaline! 🌼

@nasser Oh jeez, this is so bad.
I turn off scripts for 'everything' by default and turn it on if the site is worth it. Some sites don't work without it and show a blank page. I then move on. If it's a required visit, sigh... I temporarily turn it on.

@nasser That website kinda looks to me like a hydra with the three hyenas' heads from the lion king, all three screaming "Talk to me", "No, talk to meeeeee", "No, hurr hurr, talk to, hurr hurr, me!!!".

@nasser

Maybe not what you were looking for but I hope this message may help somebody:

- Use browsers like Brave that block this shit
- Use plugins as AdBlock and Ghostery to block more shit

PS: This site has tacky shit:

User Feedback: β€œyour chat window blocks some of the content to the point where I can’t see the lower right corner.”
Web Team: Moves the chat.
User Feedback: β€œStill a problem, just can’t see other content now”
Web Tram: Moves the chat and never stops…
User Feedback: β€œFFS”

@nasser@merveilles.town reminds me of the youareanidiot.org virus

@nasser This has β€œunsupervised interns” written all over it.

@nasser So, someone came up with this idea, and someone else thought it was a good one? And these people are walking around in our society today? I need to leave this planet, right now.

@nasser The main question here is did you spot the moment when it perfectly hits a corner?

@nasser Capitalism breeds innovation 😌

@nasser yeah I looked into QB on Linux awhile back to use as the server side and the implementation was terrible. More to the point, in reference to another comment I only run VMs so if that was the problem then Intuit needs to become more intuitive.

Call me Tongzhi 🀞

@nasser i'm imagining what kind of a wild ride has been the conversation between the managers and the ux/graphic designers about this.

@nasser If you really have to use the site, script blocking works and you can still read all you need.

@nasser they called me paranoid about safety. whatever the fuck they sell, im not buying it

@nasser Pretty sure this is what they mean by "the dark web."

@nasser Anyone else watch the whole GIF hoping to see it go right into the corner?

@nasser This is somehow nostalgic, reminiscent of early 00ths, but not in a good way.
