Sorry for the confusion, Sign-in with Mastodon is for easily joining a Pixelfed instance using your Mastodon avatar, bio, display name, username and accounts you follow.

You can also use it to link to an existing account for faster sign-in.

You cannot use your Mastodon account as a Pixelfed account, they are separate. We may support that in the future πŸ˜‰

@pixelfed So, it's cloning the Mastidon account? I assume it doesn't update followers or the avatar ever after the cloning?

@pixelfed I thought it would only be 1 account but the content would be split using pixelfed and Mastodon. Posts using Mastodon stay on Mastodon and posts using pixelfed stay on pixelfed. 1 login for all
