A year or so back I treated myself to an original of a @tomgauld cartoon, and each time I look at it (above my desk) it still makes me smile.... so I thought I'd share it with you all. Enjoy!

@ChrisMayLA6 @coprolite9000 @ChrisMayLA6 My Dad was 'resting his eyes', often with a china cup and saucer balanced on his chest. I only saw him spill it once, when he 'woke up with a start' because my Mum tried to take it off him. @ChrisMayLA6 @bookstodon Love Tom Gauld's style of humor and art. Just put REVENGE OF THE LIBRARIANS on hold. It seems apropos for this group. Why does this remind me of the quip: What is the difference between Applied and Theoretical Math? One can be lying down on the sofa in one’s office, eyes closed and no one could say the Theoretician was not working. @GhostOnTheHalfShell @ChrisMayLA6 @bookstodon Reminds me of a lecturer who claimed to have done exactly when he was studying undergraduate maths. Great for him, but kind of demoralizing for a student. 😅 @ChrisMayLA6 @tomgauld @bookstodon wow hahaha i also sort of treat daydreaming or just thinking about my art like mental work i do behind the scenes xd when you put a slice of pizza in the microwave you need to wait 3mins for it to get warm & it's the same with art kinda .. sometimes you have to "do nothing" & wait for your ideas to cook |
@ChrisMayLA6 Nice. Also, I learned the English verb 'to potter', which turns out to have nothing to do with pottery. 😃
