 @brennen i guess this is one reason i've bene meaning to get into gemini, i'ts easy to create a diverse ecosystem of browsers, even if, apparently (according to that one post by the curl developer that went around) things aren't defined specific enough. hell, rss isn't specific enough and i still use it instead of atom lol |
@m455 i don't even know what table stakes for bootstrapping a new web browser from scratch these days would be. a billion dollars in the bank and a couple hundred million in a year coming in? and then it's like ginning up an entire consumer-level operating system from scratch and it has to run everything out of the box or you're fucked, plus the only real way to get it in front of people is to be one of 3 OS vendors.
