@crcollins @gamesbymanuel @Illuminatus My e-reader is a hand-me-down Kindle, and I honestly don't know if the software allows me to upload books from other sites. (I also don't trust Amazon not to delete my e-books, so I still buy paperbacks whenever possible)

BookFunnel has instructions on how to sideload to your device. I've never done it myself (I have a free ereader app on my phone) so I can't say how easy or difficult this is.

@OrganizedTRex @crcollins @gamesbymanuel I have a 2011 Kindle and Calibre works well for transfers from the PC. There were even ways to go around the DMCA of Amazon and there's been the logical arms race.
