We like the mobile apps best, but the desktop clients come with great benefits. Check here why you should try them today! 😍

@Tutanota I would prefer the desktop client but I have an issue with it on Mac 😞

Tuta

@looopTools What is the error message? Could you try a fresh install?

looopTools

@Tutanota It just keeps refreshing. I did try a fresh install :)

Tuta

@looopTools That's odd, could you send details to hello@tutao.de? Thanks!

@Tutanota I used to use the desktop client on Linux Mint, but have given up because it seems like every update removes the appimage from my start menu (maybe this is a problem with my setup),

but more importantly I have never had any success with the client keeping my messages stored locally. I have to wait minutes or more to download anything older than 3 months in order to search through my inbox, and then I have to remember which order to click on the date selector and then type my search, because if I do it in the wrong order then I deleted my date range and stays at the last 3 months. If I do it really wrong, it goes all the way back and I have to start downloading my old messages all over again.

So really the search function is frustrating for me. I have read about a flag that makes the client save the messages locally forever but it doesn't seem to work

@Tutanota Hängt davon ab womit ich gerade arbeite. Da fällt eine Abstimmung immer schwer. Auf Tablet und Smartphone App (F-Droid), Notebooks (GNU/Linux) Desktop Client.

@Tutanota
App (meistens) zum Lesen der Mails, Desktop (aufgrund der Tastatur am Rechner) zum Schreiben

Lucifer

@Tutanota
Desktop app on Linux and Android app from FDroid.

Sir RaptaG :verified:

@Tutanota Via webmail because credentials are not stored locally in the Flatpak version of Tutanota and are rather reset every time the app is closed.

Tuta

@rapta Could you try getting the AppImage from us? Then it should work!

Sir RaptaG :verified:

@Tutanota Since I moved to Fedora Kinoite recently, I prefer using Flatpaks. I can suggest you though to emphasize more on the Flatpak version of Tutanota since it reaches out to a lot of people.

Tuta

@rapta Thanks for your feedback, we'll consider this!

@Tutanota App on the phone, webmail on the laptop and desktop.

paulies

@Tutanota Love the app but still have a problem when deleting spam it’s still says x amount in folder when it’s empty 🤣

Reza Yudhistira :verified:

@Tutanota It's difficult to use it on the web app because sometimes it does log out itself.

vattuvarg

@Tutanota - On (my daily driver) I can only use webmail and then only through an android browser (Firefox).

But I bought two additional years of *Revolutionary* nonetheless, and it is linked to my personal domain as my main account. ...and I recommend Tutanota to my family, friends and even complete strangers.

So basically I'm a fan, although a slightly grumpy one right now.

abcxyz

@Tutanota your PWA for mobile is better than others in the field yet still needs work. Especially in aesthetics

Tuta

@abcxyz Thanks, that's helpful feedback. :)

25Inches

@Tutanota whenever I try using the flatpak on my fedora kde install it doesn't work because of secret storage so I use the browser version instead

Tuta

@25Inches You can also get the AppImage from us, that's the more stable version.

25Inches

@Tutanota Yeah, but I know lots of people, including me don't like AppImage and if I were to use one it would be temporary and not for something as essential as my email client

Tuta

@25Inches Thanks for your feedback, I'll pass it on!

Patrick Seafield

@Tutanota I used to use both the desktop and mobile clients, but I started sticking to just one (mobile). That's because every time I pull up the mobile app, I have to wait for my new emails to show up in the list one by one, and I grew tired of waiting for it all over again second time on the desktop.

Tuta

@ppseafield Thanks for your feedback, we'll see how we can reduce loading time some more!

Vinz

@Tutanota Ich nutze die Androis App und Webmail. Ich würde Linux Desktop benutzen, wenn ich damit auch andere Mailaccounts nutzen könnte. Im Moment nutze ich also Thunderbird und will keine zweite Email App installieren.

DELETED

@Tutanota for me phones are just that phones, I also text but only because society now requires it.

The only add on things that I do with them is listen to music and sometimes to check the time.

Even the times that I have tried doing things like others do, they work poorly at best or not at all.

Reddog

@Tutanota By whatever means is available at any given time.

Tidbit

@Tutanota Have you started to block ProtonVPN? I can't access your website not fetch emails via the mobile app behind several Norwegian servers.
Current IP address: 146.70.170.3

Tuta

@Tidbit Not on purpose, but VPNs do get blocked occasionally - particularly free ones - as these are being abused by spammers. Please try a different connection!

An Adorable Sergal

@Tutanota I know this service isn't targeted in any way at that use case, but I'm still dreaming of a Tutanota terminal client. Being able to log in remotely from a shell and check up on things from the command line is a nice thing to be able to do.
