@savedr I’m even in favor of posting stiff there too, but if it’s the only way, that’s a problem @esther they also post screenshots of maps so cropped in that you have no context for where they’re actually doing something (like will actually not include park names or whatever)  @endocrimes @esther although probably unintentional, this is hostile to visitors who might not be from the area, and (added to the use of Meta systems) increases risk for someone like a teen or young adult who might be attending an event on their own, and perhaps quite understandably does not want to tell their parents exactly where they are going! @endocrimes @esther its an increasing problem everywhere (I see it happen in event publicity for my town as well) - the material is designed by those who live in town/city centre, and forget that folk from outside might also want to attend. But if something is exclusively on Instagram I simply won't see it as I've never had any Instagram or Facebook account and have 0 intention of ever using it.. @endocrimes @esther latitude and longitude coordinates just seem so much better, since they are quite literally global for any mapping service or app someone would use @aenea it’s very unclear. They posted something about having more and smaller event this time but i don’t know much details  @esther Seriously? They use a platform which gives a shit about trans rights, to organize events? @esther I make it a point to not check neither Facebook nor Instagram.
If people get scolded for not providing alt texts for images, then organizations should also be reminded each and every time to post all info in their RSS enabled blogs as well as on the Fediverse, i.e. out in the open.
