@Michigander Me: Lol, Ironically the temperature of the water is largely irrelevant; if you want to defrost frozen food quickly the key is -running- water.

A trickle of cold running water will defrost a steak quicker than sticking it in a gallon of 100 degree water.

A trickle of 100 degree water will defrost it quicker; but only marginally so...

Quite counterintuitively, it pretty much doesn't matter what temp the water is, as long as it's above freezing.
