 Via Garry Kasparov: Don't wonder what will happen if #Russia collapses. It already did! Years ago. It's not a state, it's a mafia front with factions fighting each other for money, resources, and power. Whatever is happening now, it was already clear Putin wasn't able to control every faction or to keep the infighting quiet or at least non-violent the way he mostly could before. 11 comments
@GottaLaff But chaos of a Libya is hard to equate with chaos within a heavily nuke armed nation. Oh, well.  @Alienated53 @GottaLaff It’s less dangerous than no chaos there. It has proven again and again that it will mess up whatever it is allowed to.  @GottaLaff The only down-side here is that eventually one of them will win. @GottaLaff This is basically the civil war that Gorbachev forestalled by allowing the peaceful breakup of the USSR. Amazing and sad that Russians — who once had such a bright future — have thrown it all away on this. In case Putin goes for an extended holiday trip to Beijing, will he continue to pay US politicians, or will Xi offer some help? @GottaLaff |
