@Tutanota as a gay man on the left of the political spectrum, I can honestly say the surveillance state doesn’t make me feel safe. It makes me feel unsafe. Very unsafe. It’s embarrassing as an American that the EU is outpacing us in privacy preserving laws. It’s clear that a generation of legislators who didn’t know how to use a smartphone 15 years ago allowed a small minority of that generation who did silently enact a technocratic authoritarian hegemonic police state.
