@saramg Hahah I love this (as a 45 year old dev).
I could add:
- "I've seen... things. You can't frighten me with code anymore."
- "My technical advice about this feature is to not do it at all"
Full onboard with the "zero fucks given".

@saramg Had this too: - But [CEO] asked for it Obviously if I explain and the CEO say "do it anyway" I will - but indeed, challenging things is a daily activity. @saramg @martinvanaken Same observation today at the office (I was exceptionally not working remotely, which helps small talks with people I never work with): him and I are now in teams away from core apps development. When we where core maintainers of important apps, we used to challenge decisions and work hands-in-hands with products people to improve the output, but most of the new dev teams don’t seem to have that culture, resulting in problematic output. They just execute. 😢 |
@martinvanaken "My technical advice about this feature is to not do it at all"
I recently had this exact conversation with a PM (and won), and I have junior devs comes to after like, "I had no idea we could say 'No'..."
