Windows is actually pretty dang good, people just have a lot of fun dunking on it. And hey, it's just an OS, you can't hurt it's feelings.
It's gotten very stable, the minimum resources required has actually gone down every release since 7, and the UI keeps getting better. It's updated frequently and has the best compatibility of any OS. There are some shortcuts and widgets I do uninstall to make the base OS cleaner (Teams, shortcuts to games, the weather widget), but that takes under 10 minutes, and very little is locked in without you being able to turn it off.
Overall I'm very happy on Windows for my one desktop that runs it. At this point I probably won't ditch it due to game compatibility.
