I think our official app downloads aren't quite where I'd want them to be, but it seems at least that the app is magnitutes better at getting new users onto the platform than any other app, which was the goal.

@Gargron @lee “controversial” means a lot would want it, while a lot would not. Controversial things shouldn’t be excluded, they should be able to be turned on and off, IMHO.

@Gargron , the best bet for it was Twidere, as it not only posted "both" networks, but consolidate them into a single timeline. However, it's dead for now. Of course, I assume it's just an opinion.

@Gargron We use Tusky for Android. It gets the job done, but it's a little annoying because notifications don't always appear. Looking forward to Mastodon's official app whenever it rolls out on Android. 😎

@Gargron It would also be interesting to look at the trend of active user source. Are users signing up through Mastodon iOS then leaving the network or switching to a third party app?

@Gargron I use it. The only thing I’m currently missing are the different timelines like the federated one. In general it’s very stable and nice to use.

@Gargron not a huge surprise since the other apps don’t have any instance suggestion screens.

A fairer comparison would be how many Website signups came via joinmastodon.org, no?
