@Gargron I think if he does it will be a great thing becuase it will advertise the Fediverse to the whole world. No world leader should be using big tech sites, these companies have too much power to collect data on people, suppress information and just design society by what they allow to be trending.

But it does not look like Trump is starting a Mastodon server, looks like he is creating his own social media site.

@Gargron Couldn't care less about this. And I mean, not only Trump but any other politician starting a social platform.
On the other hand, I see many calling for this to be blocked and isolate this instance. Why? Why not instead let them join us and come with arguments to counter their ideas. Why not try and have a discussion and see how it goes. And if they will not like how it's going, well, they can block us. Otherwise, blocking them from the go means we are happy in our own echo chamber.
