watching @akkartik get crucified for saying like, hey, wouldn't it be nice if we, from time to time, didn't throw industry-scale stacks to solve every little problem we face. :eccehomo:

@neauoire One definitely needs a thick skin to deal with people very different from oneself. But it's still useful to sift through the comments for useful, actionable feedback. @akkartik I'd love to know what changes you made based on the feedback, otherwise I'm going to be diffing the html ;) @neauoire Nothing has stood out yet, honestly :) There are some good questions, but nothing totally new. They seemed arcane enough I decided to leave them for Q&A rather than the main talk. Perhaps I should create a FAQ for this page. You have to make things complicated, otherwise your so-called "added value" is not perceived. Also, the more stuff you throw into the solution, the more stuff you have to mantain and get paid for. Also (bis), today the great part of devs learn how to use frameworks upon frameworks, not how to write useful code. |
@neauoire @akkartik It's funny how normalized the "personal" in personal computing becomes when you hang around town. That whole comment section sounds like "no one should knit their own sweaters because I've been buying mine for years."
