that's not the way favourites work on the fediverse.

there are no "likes" here; a favourite is something you're doing for yourself. that's why it's on option on your menu, to see everything you mark as a fave.

if you like something and want to show it then boost it. follow the person, boost other posts of theirs.

also mastodon is just another tool to access the fediverse. for example i use pleroma instead of mastodon yet we are still somehow communicating with each other.

@nm Every social media site I've been on I've always been one to reply to posts that had none, like, share, Etc.

I tend to just Boost & Favourite anything I like it's a quick tap and covers all bases!
I don't tend to boost pictures with no Alt Text! But they may get a favourite.
If folks don't have a profile or pinned posts they don't often get followed! πŸ’–
