I DID IT

📱 #PocoX3Pro #Droidian #rootfs build 📱

github.com/droidian-vayu/devic

No adaptation fiddling needed now, you just go and flash droidian through the fastboot, like on the officially supported devices.

And the Full Disk Encryption is now supported!

The pain was too much, I learned things I never though I will, but I did it finally.

@vacuumbeef Do you flash it like any Android custom rom?

vacuumbeef

@byteseb You just reboot to fastboot and flash it with the little script. Of course unlocked bootloader is needed.

@vacuumbeef And you can go back to Android by flashing it normally?

vacuumbeef

@byteseb yeah just format data, factory reset just in case and flash your android rom back

metallcorn 🐧

@vacuumbeef Is it at least a little usable?
How long can it hold a battery charge?

vacuumbeef

@metallcorn I am daily driving this thing.
the battery is not perfect, but better than I expected. There is batman app inside, it turnes off half of cpu cores when the screen is off, and changes governor to powersave. I cant tell you exact numbers but for me it lives through the day.

Shakil Akhtar

@vacuumbeef Nice.
I want to do the same thing for Mi A2, but don't know where to start. I looked into the documentation too but still didn't become clear. Can you tell me where to start with?

vacuumbeef

@shakil_tcs oh I would be happy to help, but the thing is, I made all of this using existing veryu outdated and abandoned adaptation zip package made by other person. Without their work, I don't think I would make this. Like, I used almost nothing from the original, but the things are used are very important and beyond my knowledge.

vacuumbeef

@shakil_tcs But you know, I just searched the internet and it looks like you are in the same position I had.

Looks like there is outdated adaptation for your device:
- devices.droidian.org/devices/j

So you may just try following my steps. I'll try to help you If you want to do it.
But before you should flash the old adaptation to check if it works, if it is than you can use it as base for making a proper up-to-date one.

vacuumbeef

@shakil_tcs actualy looks like there is even up-to-date adaptation

I don't know why it is not on droidian website.

But it is not packaged into a sideloadable zip for some reason. Maybe you want to contact it's developer. If everything works with his adaptation you can make a rootfs package too.
