@Myphatself You must be somewhere in the western US; I wish we had magpies here!
Back-deck coffee time with Merlin listening this morning was productive here in NE Kansas. Merlin might be problematic sometimes, but these are all birds that I have also visually IDed in the yard, most of them this year.
Northern Cardinal. Carolina Wren, Orchard Oriole, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Red-eyed Vireo, Least Flycatcher, Great Crested Flycatcher, American Crow, Baltimore Oriole, Tufted Titmouse, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Swainson's Thrush, Black-capped Chickadee, American Robin, Summer Tanager, Cedar Waxwing, Blue Jay, Brown-headed Cowbird, and Ruby-throated Hummingbird.
@Albatrossity the magpies are definitely a love/hate kinda relationship. They get pretty pushy with the cats and cat food. I am in the western US. My birdnet is not perfect but it does give me more info than I had before. It identified my dog as a screech owl, close, and sometimes pics up rhe toads singing as other birds. That is a great list. I've only had mine setup a week or so and it has identified 49 birds. Probably 90% accuracy. It's cool to see what comes in mornings only.
