@ivory I see that Ivory is still listed as Free. I understand that it's free to download, but the full featured and more than a week of use are paid. That's not made clear in the shortened description, and it makes the Free indicator feel very misleading. Is there another way of handling this?

@bouncinglime Unfortunately not. This is how subscription apps in the App Store have to be. Something Apple needs to solve for the App Store.

@ivory Apple doesn't make you have the app in paid subscription. You did that, 10 other free mastodon Apple apps did not get to be forced into paid service. Apple has loosen the payment rules, you can add tips within the app. You can accept donation subscription.

This is all your fault.

@bigattck We are doing just fine. Apple doesn't make us charge a subscription just as we don't make you use our app. If there are 10 other free mastodon apps out there, you shouldn't be telling us that we need to make our app free. Just spend your energy using one of the other 10 apps and enjoy your time here. πŸ™‚

@ivory it’s not about your business money, it’s about your ethical standards. You are causing harm to mastodon vision of freedom and confuse new people who only used iPhones. Apple has done nothing to your app, only you are the reason people are blaming.

@ivory it would be great if the first few lines of the app description explicitly stated it was a one-week free trial then paid for *all* features after that.
