One should also be able to tell the server to not censor the content one receives, because however well intended that it is, it's still a bit too much on the side of censorship with little too no appeal.

@pixelfed @Mastodon inbefore I’ll have to host my own instances because someone I want to follow is on a banned instance :/ id be down if it didn’t seem like a security and maintenance/storage nightmare and just isn’t and option for me or others and I imagine most people joined mastodon to not be in a walled garden like twatter I hope mods use proper judgement before banning instances willy nilly, mass banning is a slippery slope..
