So, any emoji (incl. custom emoji) can be added as a reaction to an announcement, the order in which they are added is preserved to allow people to meme, although to conserve vertical space for everyone the reactions are limited to 8 different ones, which means first come first serve.

@Gargron what if at least some of them were the most popular reaction to preserve a more accurate sentiment of the post over time. (i.e. the first 6 are post order, but the last 2 are the most popular reactions)

The first ones posted are likely to be among the most popular though, so most of the time, this shouldn’t change anything, barring some hardcore memeing.
