@m2m now allows you to share a post by #email directly from #Mastodon. You just have to mention the #bot with an email address under a post (do it privately) and it will email the indicated address with a link to the post.

Benefits ? No need to leave the app, some apps don't have sharing options, the email includes a link to invite the person to join Mastodon, not everyone has their email configured in an app that allows sharing on the device they use.

Cons ? The mail could be marked as spam.

What's the point of sending "a mail with a link to the post" rather than sending the toot in the mail directly ?
Nearly nobody would clic on that link...

@lienrag I'll click the same way as when someone sends me an article I click? Also, if it's a thread or the post has images I won't be able to integrate all that into the mail....

But that's a good point, I'll integrate the text of the post in the email.
