But realistically shitty people will be shitty regardless of having quote posts or not really.
Quote are a nice way to link to an actual source of a claim and give some comment or even corrections.
In fact I just used a quote post to comment on the announcement. Its nice to see mastodon add features which are requested by the users and are widely adopted by other software anyway.
