@jcrabapple @dragonfrog @rjcc @Mastodon one suggestion i really liked from the GitHub issue about this is to have the user pick an instance as part of the username, and while it may not be the best way to educate users about instances, i think most users who don't know about how fedi works wouldn't care about much more... |
@dragonfrog @rjcc @Mastodon right! The criteria could be similar to getting on JoinMastodon. A privacy policy, rules, moderation, be up and running for a certain amount of time, etc. Could even gather 20 instances and put it to a vote to pick 10 that go into the rotation.
